Report by: Augustus K. Armstrong
Referred by: Michael Churkin , Jr.
Age: Mississippian
Comment:This genus in the lower 48, is considered diagnostic of Osagean (lower Mississippian) and older strata. LEPTAENA is common in Meramecian age carbonates of the Lisburne Group.

The algae and foraminifers suggest a Meramecian, Mississippian age.

Thin sections retained by the P&S Branch; rocks, brachiopods, and corals returned to Mike Churkin.
