, Re your sample 73A Wr 226 from a clay (possible lake deposits) included in a thick (thousands of feet) section of grey semiconsolidated conglomerate or gravel which apparently overlies a gravel and lignitic sandstone of mid-Pliocene age. Unit of significance in tectonic history of the Alaska Range. Mt. Hayes A-3 quad., NW corner Sec. 17 R. 12 E., T. 20 S. (assigned USGS Paleobot loc. No. D5148). Pollen is well preserved.
