Brief statement of problem and remarks (from collector):
These coal-bearing beds have been tentatively dated by Brown and Wolfe as mid-Cretaceous based upon a sparse collection of plants. This year we obtained much better collections and also found some interbedded crystal tuffs which can be dated by K-Ar. methods. This should give us excellent age data on these beds and a good pollen collection from here would serve as a very useful reference standard.
