, Mudstone associated with 10 in. coal, 12 in. siltstone, 2 ft. coal. Good outcrop at 280 ft. elevation: near, but does not fit Barnes and Cobb's section 166 at head of Kachemak Bay. Must be within 100 ft. stratigraphically of Bed L (probably above it). Should be middle or upper Clamgulchian. Fresh ash parting but less than 1 mm thick; sample taken for possible zircons (but does not look likely).
