After reading Bull. 917-D, I am convinced that there are two ages present in the Eagle district. The species identified by Brown are unmistakable forms, and certainly those collections are early Tertiary. On the other hand, the specimens figured by Hollick and the new ones just examined are also clear-cut forms indicating an early late Cretaceous age. The conflict between Knowlton’s and Hollick’s lists is probably not significant.

Brief statement of problem and remarks (from collector):
These fossils are from the controversial Eocene-Cretaceous (?) beds exposed along the Yukon River and elsewhere (see USGS Bull. 917D, p.238). They may contribute to the solution of the age problem.
