Title: Report on Referred Fossils ,  1961 (10/13)
Report by: Jack A. Wolfe
Referred by: F. F. Barnes
Age: Early Miocene-Middle Miocene (Early Miocene or middle Miocene)
Formation: Kenai Group (Kenai(?) Formation)
Comment:Age: This assemblage is certainly no older than the Kenai flora at Homer, and is probably considerably younger. The Corylus is closely related to the Kenai species, and may be descended from it. The Betula is a type unknown prior to the middle Miocene in the conterminous United States and British Columbia; even allowing for the latitudinal difference, I think that this species can be no older than early Miocene. It is probable that this assemblage is younger than the "Kenai" at Port Graham, and is hence of early or middle Miocene age.
