, "forms a small island approximately one mile E.-SE. of triangulation station "Hike" at the mouth of Puale Bay. The island has an exposed area of approximately one acre and is the only one of the group of islands in this vicinity to which a definite Permian age could be assigned" [note by R.B. Blodgett: location of island shown in Fig. 1]. "The strata exposed on the island consist of approximately 35 feet of tan-gray, medium crystalline, thick-bedded, gray-brown-weathering limestone. Crinoid stems, foraminifera, ostracods, brachiopods, and many well preserved silicified corals were collected." [Note by R.B.
