RM-8
, Mt Hayes
, Limestone, medium crystalline, grey to black, silty; bedding thin to medium, regular, with thin interbeds of calcareous shale; strike N 70 deg. W, dip 65-70 deg., overturned toward the southeast; elevation approximately 2,750 feet; exposures along east side of Richard Highway near mile post 212, Northern Rainbow Mountain area (Text-fig. 3). (from Rowett, 1969, p. 118); [One of the few fossiliferous horizons known to occur in these rocks is located along the east side of the Richardson Highway approximately one-mile south of the confluence of these two strams, near mile-post marker 212 (Locality RM-8 of ROWETT, 1969). This fossiliferous zone, however, encompasses only a few feet of strata and fossils are sparse and poorly preserved. (description from Rowett and Timmer, 1973, p. 1)]
