Dear Dr. Allison,

I find the following brachiopods in coll. A-925, McGrath (A-5) quad., Alaska: (see faunal list)

The age of this fauna is in the range Couvinian to Frasnian. Internally, the Spinulicosta sp., with alveolus and breviseptum, is like known S. sp. from the Couvinian, where Spinulocosta is typical. The remainder of the species would fit well with a Couvinian assignment, which I therefore favor.

If, before I return the collection, you would like for me to run some of the rock through formic acid, in an attempt to find conodonts, please let me know, or has this been done already?

Sincerely yours,

J.G. Johnson
