54ACo9 , Craig , Heceta Island, south shore between Bay Pt. and Pt. Desconocida. Interbedded dark-gray and black slates and graywackes, thinly bedded. Collector: W.H. Condon, 1954. [Condon's transmittal sheet provides additional information: Formation or supposed horizon - Previously mapped as lowermost unit of Silurian could be part of M. Ordovician of similar rock types. Quadrangle - Craig (C-5). Information desired - Age if possible. These graptolites are very poorly preserved.]
Climacograptus? sp.
54ACo10 , Craig , Heceta Island, south shore in bay near triangulation station Dog. Hard, gray to black, thin-bedded graptolitic slates and graywackes. Collector: W.H. Condon, 1954. [Condon's transmittal sheet provides additional information: Formation or supposed horizon - Previously mapped as lowermost unit of Silurian ut could part of M. Ordovician of similar rock types. Quadrangle - Craig (C-5)]
Clonograptus spp.
54ACo14 , Craig , Prince of Wales Island, west coast, prominent minor peak just north of where trail to Sunny Hay Mt. reaches muskeg flat on top of ridge of about 1500 ft. elevation. Massive, medium-gray limestone. Collector: W.H. Condon, 1954. [Condon's transmittal form also provides following: Position in formation - Unknown but probably in lower part of the limestone, ca. 100' of which is exposed here. Lithology of beds - Massive medium gray limestone. Craig (B-4)]
Phacellophyllum? sp.
Synaptophyllum? sp.
crinoid columnals, indet.
Atrypa aff. A. reticularis (Linnaeus)
Atrypa aff. A. spinosa (Hall)
54ACo18 , Craig , San Juan Bautista Island, SE point near triangulation station Juan. Medium-to dark gray fossiliferous limestone. Collector: W.H. Condon, 1954. [Condon's transmittal sheet supplies additional information: Formation or supposed horizon - Previously mapped as upper Devonian limestones and basalts (no basalts observed here and to the west, however). Lithology of beds - Medium to dark gray fossiliferous limestone. Quadrangle - Craig (B-4). Age confirmation. The small brachiopods (Atrypa?) occur at several horizons in abundance, coralline forms are common, but the rounded nodular forms occurred in a bed 4 to 7 feet thick and make up the entire bed.]
Thamnopora? sp.
Martinophyllum? sp.
Atrypa aff. A. devoniana Webster
54ACo16 , Craig , Prince of Wales Island, west coast, 1/2 to 3/4 of way up western slope of ridge and approx. 1 mile SSW of town of Klawak. Massive gray limestone, some thin chert beds in lowest part of outcrop at base of cliff. Collector: W.H. Condon, 1954. [Condon's transmittal sheet provides additional information: Formation or supposed horizon - Previous mapping has left a gap here; nearest mapped rock is Mississippian chert and limestone on the shore. Two possibilities exist: 1) That this limestone stratigraphically overlies mapped Mississippian chert and limestone and is probably Mississippian as part of west limb of broad syncline, or 2) That this limestone stratigraphically underlies the chert and limestone, is possibly Devonian limestone as part of the east limb of syncline overturned to the west. The limestone may correlate with 54ACo14 if the latter is true but is probably of a slightly lower horizon. Position of formation: Massive gray limestone, some thin chert beds in lowest part of outcrop at base of cliff. Slope to shore is deeply covered but at shore black chert dominates the thinly interbedded limestone. Quadrangle: Craig (C-4)]
zaphrentoid coral, indet..
crinoidal debris, indet.
linoproductid brachiopod, gen. indet..
Spirifer sp.
Atrypa? sp.
54ACo17 , Craig , Madre de Dios Island, in Bucareli Bay, north shore about 1 mile east of western tip. Massive limestone with very little chert, but the point to west has considerable chert. Collector: W.H. Condon, 1954. [Condon's transmittal sheet provides additional information: Formation or supposed horizon - Mapped as Mississippian limestone and chert. Lithology of beds - Massive limestone with very little chert, but the point to west has considerable chert content. Outcrop is on fault both sides of which the limestone contained large crinoid stems, corals, and some bryozoa. Quadrangle: Craig (B-4)
zaphrentoid coral, undet.
crinoidal debris, indet.
fenestelloid bryozoan, indet.
54ACo19 , Craig , Shelikof Island, in Soda Bay, southwestern part of island, point north of small island in bay and off southwest part of island. Massive, pitted, light-gray limestone. Collector: W.H. Condon, 1954. [Condon's transmittal sheet provides additional information: Formation or supposed horizon - The very southwest part of Shelikof Island has been previously mapped as Pennsylvanian(?) limestone underlain to east by Mississippian limestone. Contact is not apparent. Position in formation - Uppermost part of Mississippian or lowermost Pennsylvanian(?) as represented here. Lithology of beds - Massive, pitted, light-gray limestone. Quadrangle: Craig (B-4)
Gigantoproductus sp.
