Description: Howard Pass C-3. Lat. 68o 30.7' N., Long. 157o 36.0' W. Very fine grained, dark-gray, fractured limestone. Thin section is brecciated interlayers of dark, noncalcareous mudstone containing 20-40 percent sponge spicules, and fine-grained limestone containing minor sponge spicules and rare relict radiolarians. (description from Dover et al., 2004, p. 37 (Table 1); [Howard Pass C-3 quad. 68°30.73', 157°36.0'. Probable Lisburne geoblob of the Ipnavik allochthon. Thin section indicates sponge spiculite (20-40 percent) in dark, noncalcareous mud matrix and minor spong spicules in calcite matrix; rare relict radiolarians. Thin section is brecciated.
