Description: Howard Pass C-3. Lat. 68o 38'2.4" N., Long. 157o 32'45" W. Sample from 2 m below top of approx. 5-m-thick chert interval; green and white banded chert in 5-cm-thick beds. In thin section, chert is fine-grained, greenish-brown, clay-rich(?) and contains minor spicules and radiolarians. (description from Dover et al., 2004, p. 55 (Table 2)); [Formation: Unnamed chert unit - Ipnavik unit of Lisburne Gp. -- or (possibly) facies equivalent of upper Ipnavik unit. USGS Howard Pass 1:250,000 C3 quadrangle, T. 9 S., R. 24 W., SW1/4, SW 1/4, sec. 28; near small knob (elev. approx. 640 m) west of unnamed tributary of Cutaway Creek; approx. 4.5 mi west of Pimple Creek and 3.5 mi south of Monument Ridge; same locality as 92AD21A.
