The two collections from the Camp Creek area on the southeast flank of Sheep Mountain contain the Lower Jurassic pelecypod Weyla and many brachiopods resembling specimens collected previously from the Talkeetna Formation. The brachiopods were examined by Peter Hoover who has a post-doctorate fellowship with the U.S. Geological Survey and is now studying brachiopods from the Triassic and Lower Jurassic of the Pacific Coast region. He reports that the rhynchonellid brachiopods appear to be congeneric with taxa in the Lower Jurassic of Nevada and are very different from the brachiopods in the Triassic of the region. His studies are not sufficiently advance to identify the brachiopods generically.
