Inoceramus kusiroensis is known from Kodiak Formation at Woody Island, the Shumagin Formation of the Shumagin Islands, and the Hoodoo and Kaguyak Formations which also have Inoceramus balticus var. kunimiensis.

Note by R.B. Blodgett: Letter of Feb. 28, 1985 from Jim Sample to J.W. Miller (subsequent to the issuing of this report states: "I am definitely appreciate your rapid identification of the Inoceramus specimens I left for you last fall. The dates will help me a great deal in my research on the Kodiak Formation. I would like to make a location correction on two Inoceramus that you reported on January 11, 1984. My sample number was Kup. Your number was M7850. I misidentifified their location when I spoke to you in 1983. Their correct location was 58o 01' 06" N latitude, 153o 02' 14" W longitude, approximately 2.5 miles ESE of Bukti Point, Kupreanof Strait, on the Afognak A-4 quadrangle. I'm sorry for the mistake, and I hope it doesn't create too much additional paperwork. Thanks again for your help, and I find any more fossils, I'l let you know. Sincerely, Jim Sample

P.S. Enclosed is a copy of the report you sent me, with the location of KUP corrected.
