Sample: Sample No. 92AD22A -- USGS No. 32428-PC
Locality: Field No. 92AD22A
Description: Howard Pass C-3. Lat. 68o 38'20" N., Long. 157o 32'30" W. Fine-grained limestone with abundant small burrows. Thin section is calcareous peloid spiculite that contains calcispheres and brown mud clasts. Sample collected from very fine grained rock (periplatform ooze?) and may contain relatively indigenous faunas. Probably stratigraphically below samples at locality 27. If fauna is not reworked, this sample and that from locality 52 are the oldest from unit Mlri. (description from Dover et al., 2004, p. 32 (Table 1)); [Fine-grained limestone with abundant small burrows. Sample collected from very fine grained lithology (periplatform ooze?) and may contain more indigenous faunas. (description from Harris E&R report dated March 17, 1995; Shipment no. A-95-3)]; [Howard Pass C-3. 68°38'20", 157°32'30". Fine-grained limestone with abundant small burrows. Sample collected from very fine grained lithology (periplatform ooze?) and may contain more indigenous faunas. (description from Harris E&R report dated Jan. 25, 1995; Shipment no. A-95-3a)]

Analysis of all samples is given in the accompanying 16-page table. The range of biostratigraphically important samples is shown on the accompanying diagram. The heavy-mineral concentrates were analyzed by Nancy Stamm; the residues have been returned to Julie Dumoulin. Please note a few (~4 samples have heavy-mineral concentrates that include chalcopyrite and bornite).
