Sample: Sample No. 91Tr47C -- USGS No. 31849-PC
Locality: Field No. 91Tr47C
Description: Howard Pass C-3. North-south traverse through section of unit Mlb: 68o 30.6' N., 157o 32.45' W. (base, 47A) to 68o 30.5' N., 157o 32.45' W. (top, 47F). Sample from approx. 15-m-thick ribbed outcrop consisting chiefly of grayish-black chert in 5- to 10-cm-thick beds; locally abundant lenses of very fine grained, medium-brownish-gray, medium-buff-weathering dolostone within chert. Thin section is skeletal supportstone. Most of slide is silicified; one end is dolomitized. Relict skeletal grains include bryozoans, crinoid ossicles, ostracodes and minor siliceous sponge spicules. Heavy-mineral concentrate includes phosphatic brachiopod fragments. (description from Dover et al., 2004, p. 40 (Table 1)); [Howard Pass C-3 quad. 68°30.60', 157°32.45'. Lisburne Group (Brooks Range allochthon); from ~ 15 m ribbed outcrop consisting of 2 m of 2"-8" bedded grayish-black chert at bottom, 5 m similar material but slightly thinned bedded and upper 2 m is dolomite within chert. Thin section is skeletal supportstone. Most of slide is silicified; one end is dolomitized. Relict skeletals include bryozoans, crinoid ossicles, ostracodes and minor siliceous sponge spicules. Title: Report on Referred Fossils ,  1993 (09/17)
This report is long (1.5 years) overdue, but I have been exceedingly busy writing papers, responding to reviewers and editors comments and preparing talks. I am finally returning to a partial E&R mode and your collections were at the top of the list.
