Sample: Sample No. 92AD25H -- USGS No. 12459-SD
Locality: Field No. 92AD25H
Description: Howard Pass B-4. Lat. 68o 20'56" N., Long. 158o 16'00" W. Massive, stromatoporoid-crinoidal lime packstone. Thin section is skeletal packstone containing <1 percent angular quartz silt; diverse bioclasts include crinoid ossicles, stromatoporoid fragments and algae(?). Collected from a discrete approx. 10 x 20 m block of unnamed Devonian limestone within Copter Peak basal unit of Siniktanneyak mafic complex. Conodonts of Late Devonian age previously reported from this locality (table 4; fossil locality 7 of Nelson and Nelson, 1982). (description from Dover et al., 2004, p. 49 (Table 1)); [Howard Pass B-4. 68°20'58", 158°16'00". Massive, stromatoporoid-crinoidal lime packstone.
Collected from a discrete ~ 10 m x 20 m block of unnamed Devonian rocks depositionally(?) associated with Siniktanneak mafic complex.
From same locality as above ("referring to 92AD25E"). [description from Harris E&R reports dated Jan. 25, 1995 (Shipment no. A-95-3a) and March 17, 1995 (Shipment no. A-95-30)]

Report by: Jim Dover , Irv L. Tailleur , Julie A. Dumoulin
Age: Frasnian (early Late Devonian (Frasnian))
Formation: Unnamed (Basalt (Jurassic? to Devonian?))
CAI:Min: 3
Comment:Age: early Late Devonian (Frasnian)

Biofacies: Indeterminate (too few conodonts). Conodonts suggest normal-marine, shelfal environment.

Shown as locality 112 on Sheet 2; map unit: JDbc

CAI=3

Occurrence(s)
No. Group Name Qty Notes
1 Conodonts 1 posterior Pa element fragment Ancyrodella sp.indet. All conodonts identified by A.G. Harris
2 Conodonts 1 Pa element fragment Polygnathus sp. indet.
3 Conodonts 6 indet. bar, blade, and platform fragments

Title: Report on Referred Fossils ,  1995 (03/17)
Analysis of all samples is given in the accompanying 16-page table. The range of biostratigraphically important samples is shown on the accompanying diagram. The heavy-mineral concentrates were analyzed by Nancy Stamm; the residues have been returned to Julie Dumoulin. Please note a few (~4 samples have heavy-mineral concentrates that include chalcopyrite and bornite).

All conodont analyses and samples and residue weights are given in the attached tables. The age range of all samples is graphically shown on the accompanying diagram.

Please give a copy of this report to Jim Dover and anyone else on the Howard Pass project that needs these data. I will do all the Carboniferous samples while in Florida.
