Title: Report on Referred Fossils ,  1969 (06/12)
This report covers the most extensive collection of fossils yet recorvered from the Yakutat Group of southern Alaska. Unfortunately, most of the fossils are either poorly preserved, belong to undescribed forms, occur in dislocated blocks, or are otherwise undiagnostic as to age. This is particularly true of the numerous clams from locs. M5102, M5104, and M5105. Warren Addicott and I have thrashed with thses specimens for a considerable time, and now tentatively believe that they are Mesozoic, probably Cretaceous, and perhaps nonmarine. The scrap of I. cf. I. schmidti from loc. M5108 is a notable discovery, which, if in place and further confirmed by additional collections, will substantiate a Late Cretaceous (Campanian) age for part of the Yakutat Group.
