Age: Devonian (Devonian?)
Comment:The new species of Actinopteria shows affinities with various New York Middle and Upper Devonian forms, but it is too dissimilar to warrant assignment to a New York species. It is morphologically transitional between several New York Middle and Upper Devonian species and, on this rather slim evidence, I would guess the age to be somewhere near the Middle-Upper Devonian boundary as defined in New York. This genus has, however, a known range of at least mid-Silurian to Upper Devonian (Chemung or New York). In summary, I’d say: probably Devonian, possibly near (New York) Middle-Upper Devonian boundary. Additional material for further study would be welcome.
