| Comment: | As indicated in the previous report by Melik and Kesling, these ostracodes belong to the genus Herrmannina which has a recorded range of Middle Silurian to Middle Devonian. Unfortunately, the material is not well preserved and it is not possible to make any specific determination. The previous report gave all the information available from this collection and I am unable to add anything to it. [Note by R.B. Blodgett: Brabb in his transmittal sheet gives additional locality information: "Unnamed dolomite and red and green argillite. May be Devonian. Black River C-4 quad; on north bank of Black River; 3.7 miles (airline) from Salmon Village: lat. 66o 31'N, long. 142o 30.7'W; coords (13.5, 1.2). Fossils from dolomite beds." |
