Title: Report on Referred Fossils ,  1983 (01/24)
Report prepared by J.T. Dutro, Jr. (in consultation with E.L. Yochelson)

This report covers 5 miscellaneous collections which were received in October, 1982. Four of the collections are Mississippian, three probably from the Kogruk Formation and one from the Noatak? Formation. The fifth collection, metamorphosed calcareous rock from the Baird Mtns. quad., is Silurian-Devonian in age, possibly Late Devonian (Frasnian). It could represent the Beaucoup Formation, as you suggest. The Mississippian collections are retained for reference.

Report by: J. Thomas Dutro , Jr. , Ellis L. Yochelson
Referred by: C. F. Mayfield , Irv L. Tailleur
Age: Silurian-Devonian (Silurian - Devonian, possibly Late Devonian (Frasnian))
Comment:UPPER DEVONIAN(?)

These recrystallized and poorly preserved fossils sown external morphology of thamnoporoid corals that are common in the Devonian and Silurian. This kind of tabulate coral is sometimes found in Devonian rocks of the Brooks Range, both Devonian carbonates of the Baird Group and the Upper Devonian Beaucoup Formation of the central and eastern Brooks Range. The collection has been retained.
