AGES OF SOME LOWER JURASSIC AMMONITES FROM THE PUALE BAY-ALINCHAK BAY AREA

Waehneroceras cf. W. portlocki (Wright) at loc. 80ADt166 has been found previously on the south side of Alinchak Bay at Mesozoic localities 12075, 12394, 25694, 29268 and ROC loc. 3002. It has been found previously on the east side of Puale Bay at Mesozoic localities 3110, 29267, and 31370. The genus is of middle Hettangian age (see Imlay and Detterman, 1977, Amer. Assoc. Petroleum Geologists Bull. 61, figs. 1, 2 and p. 611).

Arnioceras cf. A. densicostata (Quenstedt) at loc. 80AJm3 has been found previously on the east side of Puale Bay near the top of the Lower Jurassic beds at Mesozoic locs. 21237, ROC 1282 and ROC 1283. The genus is of late early Sinemurian age.
