Title: Report on Referred Fossils ,  1955 (11/28)
Report by: Ralph W. Imlay
Referred by: Arthur Grantz
Age: Late Cretaceous
Formation: Matanuska Formation
Comment:The fossils from the Matanuska formation are mostly Inocerami belonging to species that have been recorded previously from many localities and with which you are familiar.

The fossils from the basal sandstone belong mostly to Inoceramus uwajimensis Yehara. ....

The common species from the lower third of the lower shale and siltstone member is, also, Inoceramus uwajimensis, but I. cf. I. iburiensis Nagao and Matsumoto occurs at three localities. The latter has been obtained previously in about the same stratigraphic position in the lower part of the Matanuska formation.
