Title: Report on Referred Fossils ,  1961 (11/06)
This report concerns 10 collections of trilobites and other fossils, mostly from Cambrian rocks. The 9 Cambrian collections will be dealt with in groups related to the collection localities in the vicinity of Chief Mtn. and Crow triangulation station. The one Devonian collection is only briefly mentioned as it contains an ostracod fauna that should be more definitive than the trilobites and has been turned over to Jean Berdan for further comment.
Report by: A. R. Palmer
Referred by: Earl E. Brabb
Age: Late Cambrian
Comment:One sack labeled 61AMc941 contained a slightly older Upper Cambrian trilobite assemblage (3718-CO) including a form possibly referable to Geneviella, a crepicephalid trilobite related to Modocia or Meteoraspis, and in the insoluble residue, a most remarkable single specimen of an ornamented ostracod unlike anything ever described from the Cambrian. The stratigraphic distance between the bed with this collection and the Corynexochus fauna may be only a few feet, but it certainly represents a different and slightly older fauna. More material from this unit would be most welcome.
