The only indication of lacustrine environment is provided by Lymnaea randolphi Baker, a snail found in large streams and lakes of Alaska and adjacent areas. The other aquatic species are tolerant of, or restricted to, shallower ponds and streams. Thus if these deposits were laid down in a former glacial lake, the fossils probably came from the upstream end or the edges where the shells were washed from other habitats.
