Problem is to determine the age of the rocks from which the fossils were collectied.

60AHr72 , Russian Mission , Location determined on Russian Mission 1:250,000 map, 1950 Edition. Coords: 0.6, 10.3, Long. 161 deg. 55.5', lat. 61 deg. 35.5'. Near the downstream end of prominent rock bluff on east side Yukon River about 3.5 river miles downstream from village of Ohogamiut. Fossils occur in thin-bedded olive-green tuff or siliceous siltstone interbedded with medium to coarse-grained gray and gray green sandstone.

On the east bank of Yukon River about 7 miles N25W from village of Ohogamiut. Few fossil fragments occur in the talus at foot of low rock cliffs. Rock is chiefly thick-bedded, fine-grained olive-green siliceous siltstone or tuff with a few coarse-grained beds. (from E&R report); USGS Mesozoic loc. 27716. 60AHr97 , Kwiguk , Location determined on Kwiguk 1:250,000 map, 1959 Edition. Coords: 14.6, 1.0, Long. 163 deg. 13.5', lat. 62 deg. 2.5'. About 2.3 miles downstream from St. Mary's Mission on north bank of Andreafsky River. Fossil pelecypods occur in fragment of sandstone derived from nearby outcrops. Fossils occur in very hard, thick-bedded, medium-grained, gray, calcareous sandstone. Ripple marks and carbonized plant hash also characterized the rock.
