Locality: Field No. 92AD59G
Description: Howard Pass C-5. Lat. 68o 35'45" N., Long. 158o 27'20" W. Light-gray chert that contains few to 25 percent radiolarians; local green-weathering laminae. Thin section is light-brown, fine-grained chert with thin laminae of dark-brown mud and 10-20 percent spicules and radiolarians. Conodonts (table 1) from limestone immediately underlying the chert at this locality are Mississippian (probably late Osagean) (description from Dover et al., 2004, p. 53 (Table 2)); [Formation: Triassic-Pc overlying Kuna. USGS Howard Pass 1:250,000 C5 quadrangle, T. 10 S., R. 28 S., sec. 9; small knob at elevation 660 m+ and 1.5 mi east of main fork of the Kiligwa River and 1.5 mi SE of the junctgion of the Kiligwa River and Drenchwater Creek.
