Tuxedni Fm., Iniskin Siltstone. Southwestern Alaska, Cook Inlet Region, Iniskin Peninsula. North side of Gaikima Creek about 400 ft. upstream from the mouth of the South fork of the Gaikima river or 1.12 miles N 84o W of the mouth of Fitz Creek. Strat. Pos. 880 ft. below the top of the Iniskin siltstone. Lithology - shaly sandstone interbedded with sandy shale in a belemites bed. Coll. ABSTRACT-New genera and species of Bajocian ammonites from Alaska include
Megasphaeroceras rotundum Imlay, Dettermanites vigorosus Imlay, and Parabigotites
crassicostatus Imlay. A new subgenus and species is Oppelia (Liroxyites) kellumi
Imlay. Of these Megasphaeroceras, Dettermanites and Oppelia (Liroxyites) are associated
with Spiroceras? Leptosphinctes, and Sphaeroceras of late Bajocian age. Parabigotites is associated with Stephanoceras, Otoites, Sonninia, Witchellia and
Lissoceras of middle Bajocian age. |
