Comment:The collections number 41-AMt-138, 179, and 180 represent the Salmontrout limestone as established by faunal comparison with the collections from that formation originally identified by E.M. Kindle. The fauna of the Salmontrout limestone contains some elements suggestive of an Upper Devonian age, but the presence of "Spirifer" aff. S. venustus (=S. cf. S. divaricatus of Kindle) is a cogent reason for considering it Middle Devonian as Kindle did (1908, G.S.A. Bull. vol. 19, p. 328-329).
