Comment:The presence of a leptostrophiid brachiopod is presumptive evidence for the Devonian age of this collection. This is contested by an athyrid or reticulariid brachiopod suggesting Cleiothyridina, a Carboniferous genus, but the leptostrophiid is probably more reliable evidence. None of the fossils present suggest what part of the Devonian might be represented here.
