Title: Report on Devonian and questionable Mississippian fossils submitted to the Section of Paleontology and Stratigraphy December 27, 1941 ,  1942 (02/09)
Report by: P. E. Cloud , Jr.
Referred by: J. B. Mertie , Jr.
Age: Late Devonian-Mississippian (Late Devonian or Mississippian)
Comment:The collections numbered 41AMt23 and 35 could be either Upper Devonian or Mississippian. In collection 41AMt23 are associated Pugnoides and a simple spiriferoid similar to "Spirifer" orestes of the Upper Devonian and "S". keokuk of the lower Mississippian. This association is known from Chemung time through the Mississippian with slight differences in the associates. It is unlikely that the spiriferoid in lot 41AMt23 is one of the later Mississippian species, but it is not well enough preserved to make an accurate determination. Consquently, it would be no more than a guess to say whether the fauna was an Upper Devonian or a lower Mississippian one.
