Age: Late Pliocene-Quaternary (Late Pliocene or Quaternary)
Comment:Age: late Pliocene or Quaternary. There are few fossil records of Nuculana fossa; accordingly, it seems unwise to attach age significance to its poorly documented range. There are scattered records from strata of Pleistocene age but, so far as I am aware, none from undoubted Pliocene strata in Alaska.

The modern geographic range of this species is from the Chukchi Sea southward Puget Sound, Washington. It is representative of sublittoral (equals neritic) to upper bathyal depths.
