| Comment: | This "species," which was described from the Wrangell Mountains, is distinguished from H. "austriaca of Smith only in having ribs that undergo zig-zag in their instead of being completely straight. This locality might therefore represent a slightly different stratigraphic level in the Nizina than 62AMk273c, -274, and -275, but the validity of separating H. brooksi from H. "austriaca" of Smith is uncertain. This kind of Halobia, including both of these "species," evidently characterizes both the Chitistone and Nizina limestones and evidences a late Karnian age.
