Description: Lat. 68o 37' N., 156o 43' W. Fossils from organic shale with oil shale near top of about 50 ft. of section that appears to continuously overlie the Shublik Fm. Less than 20 ft. below Buchia-coquinoid shale zone. (above data from transmittal sheet submitted by I.L. Tailleur, Sept. 21, 1964)

Age: Middle Jurassic (probably Middle Jurassic)
Comment:Oil shale with large fragments of Inoceramus and very slender belemnites. The Inoceramus have the linguloid shape and ornamentation typical of Middle Jurassic forms, but no hinge lines are preserved so positive identification cannot be made. The belemnite is also a form commonly found in Middle Jurassic rocks.
