[Transmittal sheet contains following comments from Miller]
These specimens were collected from meta-limestone in the eastern Seward Peninsula of Alaska. The age of the limestone is unknown although Devonian fossils have been collected by Kindle (1911) 20 miles due north along strike at Cape Deceit on the south side of Kotzebue Sound. Reconnaissance geologic mapping is just beginning in this part of the Seward Peninsula and fossil localities are few and far between. A stratigraphic and structural problems appears to be shaping up with Pete Sainsbury having mapped lower Paleozoic thrust-faulted rocks in the western Bendeleben quadrangle and my mapping of mid-Paleozoic(?) rocks in the eastern Bendeleben quadrangle. An age assignment of these specimens would help Pete and me in solving this problem.
