Stratigraphic range: Devonian & Devonian?
Kinds of fossils: Corals
Quadrangle or area: McGrath & Lime Hills
Shipment No.: A-66-4
Referred by: Hoare, Joseph M.
Report prepared by: Oliver, William A., Jr.
Date: 07/19/1966

The following report covers the corals submitted with covered memo dated March 1.

Three collections, 2, 15, and 36, contain aphrosalpingoideans and two, 14 and 54, contain brachiopods; these will be reported on by other paleontologists at a later date. Two of these collections contain corals but only one of them is reasonably well dated.

The coral collections may all be Devonian but only a few are definitely so. The identifications and age determinations follow.

Brief statement of problem and remarks (from collector):
Fossils collections come from a thick sequence of mostly carbonate rocks in an unmapped are. A few small previous collections show rocks of Ordovician and Mid-Devonian age. However thickness of the sequence suggests that other systems (Sil., Miss., Perm.) may also be present.

Rocks are moderately folded and faulted.
