Title: Report on Referred Fossils ,  1965 (12/23)
Collections submitted with request dated August 27, 1965 are covered in this report. The six small collections are listed first, and discussed as a unit. The one large collection (65ABe21; 7469-SD) is listed and discussed separately. Specimens in all collections are poorly preserved, either recrystallized or crushed, and identifications are uncertain, in many cases, because of this.
Report by: William A. Oliver , Jr.
Referred by: William P. Brosge
Age: Devonian (Devonian?)
Comment:The six small collections contain thamnoporoid corals (Silurian to Devonian range) and/or Amphipora or amphiporoids. Amphipora appears to be restricted to the Middle and early Late Devonian and the collection in which Amphipora has been definitely identified is almost certainly of this age. The age of the other collections is uncertain as the identification of Amphipora but all are either Silurian or Devonian since there is nothing outside of these limits that can easily be confused with the amphiporoid group.
