Comment: | 500 g of limestone was processed for conodonts (21 g of +20 mesh material remained undissolved after acid treatment). These morphotypes indicate a Devonian to Triassic age. Another collection of 4-5 kg from the same interval should provide sufficient conodonts for a better age determination. The color alteration index is 3 indicating the host rock reached 120o -150o C., but could have been hotter for a very short period of geologic time. |
