Brief statement of problem and remarks (from collector):
Under separate cover we are sending you a small collection of megafossils from the above locality, which is shown on the attached map. These are for your reference and use as you see fit. We do not desire them back. We would appreciate your comments concerning their age if and when you have time to examine them.

Charlie Fulmer has looked at the faunas and his comments are as follows: "This assemblage contains only a few individuals of the Yakataga fauna, nevertheless it appears to belong to this fauna. Age is Zemorrian-Saucesian or equivalent to the Blakely formation or Upper Oligocene in U.S.G.S. terminology."

We would appreciate your independent coments because, without checking, it seems to me Miller's data from this area suggests a much younger age of the Chaix Hill beds. This locality, as you will note, is close to the base of the exposed rocks at Chaix Hills and will be very near to the horizon of our Chaix Hills Unit #1 will spud.
