Collections upon which this report is based are from Carter Creek in the northeastern part of Arctic Alaska and from St. Augustine Island near the mouth of Cook Inlet, Alaska.

Brief statement of problem and remarks (from collector):
This is additional material from same locality on Carter Creek that was submitted last year. In addition, collections 70ADt-1560, 1562, unit 2, and 1562, unit 3, are from Augustine Island, Cook Inlet, Alaska. The island is a volcano with a few hundred feet of sediments along the south shore, and I need an age assignment.

Dark-gray siltstone containing layers of coquina 75-100 ft above base of exposed section and about 50-75 ft below M4437. Coll.: R. L. Detterman, 1970.
?Mesodesmatid - a small, undetermined genus similar to Holocene genera from Japan.
Undetermined internal mold - elongate specimen with concentric folds
