Comment: | The halysitid is a species of Catenipora, but not one that is characteristic of the Upper Ordovician as was considered possible over the phone. It could fall anywhere in the range upper Middle Ordovician-Upper Silurian (lower Ludlow). One section cuts through the calice of a rugose coral that is more likely Middle-Upper Silurian than older. |
