Description: Samples 7-11-84A & B were collected to see if the Shishakshinovik pluton had any effect on the overlying Mississippian rocks; that is, is the pluton post-Devonian? Medium-gray, moderate-reddish-orange- and moderate-reddish-brown-weathering terrigenous limestone to calcareous, fine- to medium-grained sandstone and siltstone with abundant fossil hash; Kayak Shale a few hundred feet from contact with pluton, at elevation 4130 feet, lat. 67o 25.7 min., long. 156o 15.4 min., Ambler River quadrangle.

Comment:7.3 kg of rock was processed (1.2 kg of +20 mesh and 546 g of 20-200 mesh insoluble residue): NO CONODONTS WERE RECOVERED. The sample produced abundant phosphatized steinkerns of low- and high-spired gastropods and rare phosphatized steinkerns of clams and ostracodes.
