Title: Report on Referred Fossils ,  1973 (10/15)
Report by: Norman J. Silberling , K. M. Nichols
Referred by: J. Thomas Dutro , Jr. , Donald H. Richter
Age: Ladinian (mid-Ladinian)
Formation: Unnamed (sedimentary beds beneath Nikolai Greenstone)
Comment:We agree with your determination that these are Middle Triassic Daonellas. The best species assignment, in keep with the quality of preservation, is Daonella cf. D. frami Kittl, and the stratigraphic position of this species elsewhere is mid-Ladinian. As you know, D. frami, along with D. degeeri (in the past sometimes reported by Silberling as D. subquadrata), occurs in the sedimentary beds beneath the Nikolai Greenstone in the Wrangell Mountains. The specimens are being added to the USGS Triassic collections at Menlo Park.
