Comment:SILURIAN COLLECTIONS

The four collections from the Silurian? dolomite unit are, indeed, of Silurian age. Abundant large specimens of Conchidium, almost certainly of the kind referred by Kirk and Amsden to Conchidium alaskense (Prof. Paper 233-C, p. 55), occur in USGS 8161-SD. These are probably of Ludlow age and suggest assigning the entire dolomite unit to the Silurian.
