Comment: | Specimens in this collection are so thoroughly recrystallized that identification is out of the question. However -- the spaghetti-like material is strongly suggestive of Amphipora by its gneral shape and abundance. Given this, my imagination is capable of "recognizing" what may have been a massive stromatoporoid and a thamnoporoid tabulate coral. None of these have any real structure preserved and all could be something else. My hest guess is that this is Middle or early Late Devonian in age. If you have nothing better to go on this may be of some help but the supporting data is very weak. I am discarding the collection. |
