Title: Report on Referred Fossils ,  1972 (11/15)
This report is a preliminary one on 15 palynological samples from the Beaver and Tanana quads. Three of the samples, 72ABe29, 72ABe56A and 72ABe56B were submitted originally by you to Jack Wolfe; these, assigned shipment No. A-72-11M, duplicate samples already sent by you to Denver and include under A-72-6D.

Barren samples include: 72ABe29 (unidentifiable wood)
72ABe5, 12, 13, 13W, 14
72ARr26, 42A, 42B, 49, 49a, 72, 76B, 77, 85, 110

Pollen bearing samples include:
72ABe56A (subdivided by us into two lithologic samples, 56Aa - carb. shale (our D4848A), and 56Ab (our D4848B), coal)

72ABe56B (our D4848C)

Both of these, -56A and 56B, contain pollen confirming a Tertiary age. The slide have been sent to Jack Wolfe, who may be able to redefine this age determination.

Jack and I have recently made a working agreement whereby all Alaskan palynological samples will be processed in Denver. Thos which appear on th preliminary examination to be of Tertiary age will be sent to on to him for study and report.
