Referred by: Warren L. Coonrad , Joseph M. Hoare
Age: Carnian-Norian (Carnian - middle Norian)
Comment:The fragmentary finely ribbed bivalves in this collection are definitely Halobia, providing an objective possible age range of Karnian through middle Norian. They are too incomplete for positive specific identification but are suggestive of the kinds of Halobia characteristic of lower or middle Norian rocks. Alaska represented in the micaceous (forliated?), more sandy rock specimens are calcareous bioclasts of crinoid columnals and bryozoa, the latter being a fairly unusually component in rocks of this age.
