This report deals wit four samples from submarine outcrops, obtained with a chain dredge from the continental shelf near Kodiak Island, Alaska. Samples were obtained on cruise 59-79-WG of the R/V Sea Sounder.

Age: Pleistocene-Holocene
Comment:Both specimens ar poorly preserved, so positive identifications are not possible. Macoma balthica occurs in Pleistocene and Holocene faunas of the North Pacific and other circum-arctic regions. It currently lives as far south as San Francisco, California, and is found in upper intertidal areas in bays to about 37 meters depth in quiet offshore areas, in silt.
