This report deals with 13 collections of mollusks from the Yakataga (?), Poul Creek, and Kulthieth Formations, and an unnamed volcanic unit, in the vicinity of the Samovar Hills, Gulf of Alaska Tertiary province. |

Comment: | The fossils do not help in age determination, but do say a bit about the paleoenvironment. The environment was marine for sure: the two gastropods occur only in marine conditions, and the bivalve fragments are of a species that had a thick-walled, large shell more characteristic of a marine than fresh water habitat. |
