55.5'. On north bank of Yukon River about 1.5 miles downstream from village of Pilot Station, about 1 mile above the upstream end of Hills Island. Near the upstream end of a high rock bluff. Fossil leaf impressions occur in massive and thick-bedded olive gray and green medium-grained sandstone which crops out at the upstream and downstream ends of the large exposure. No fossil leaves were found in the dark gray sandstone which forms the middle part of the exposure.

Both species are known only from the Kaltag formation, and it is thus probable that the rocks from which this collection came are the same age: early late Cretaceous (on a two-fold division of the Cretaceous).
